Creator Guidelines
Thanks for your interest in sharing your work with The Sanctuary! We welcome submissions that deepen connections to God and neighbors, including
Creative readings (scripture, prayer, liturgy, etc)
Personal stories and devotionals
Music (vocal and/or instrumental)
Little Labyrinth scripts
Service ideas and encouragement
Memes–funny, insightful, shareable
Other creative things we haven’t thought of yet!
Please keep in mind the following:
For Monday Meditations, Worship Song Wednesdays, and Finding God Friday, please check the upcoming themes before you start.
Shorter is better, with a preferred length of 2 minutes and max of 4 minutes (we can fudge this some on music).
Quality matters! You don’t need your own recording studio, but try to record in a place with good lighting and low background noise. Most modern mobile devices have good enough cameras and microphones for you to use.
Plan what you’re doing. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but a video full of “um” and “you know” will have a harder time engaging an audience.
Content should align with United Methodist practice and theology. If you’ve got questions about that, please contact Pastor Eric.
If possible, files should be attached to an email to Rebecca Trefz. If a file is too large, try uploading it to Google Drive or Dropbox and sharing a link that allows editing/downloads.
It should go without saying, but be good humans. Anything racist, sexist, homophobic–you know the drill. We won’t accept it, so don’t do it.
Be creative! Sometimes we don’t know what we’re looking for until we see it. But please also look through some of our earlier posts to get a feel for our general style.
